In A Relationship

 

I was so rebellious, disrespectful, prideful, and just rude looking back. I was told I had a strong personality and knew what I wanted. I was told all the lies of the world. I believed them!  When I came to God I learned that these behaviors are like idolatry and witchcraft ( 1 Sam 15:23). What? WOW! Reread that! REBELLION and PRIDE are like witchcraft and idolatry. I was sure of myself when I said I did not participate in witchcraft or any of these things; tarot cards, stones, etc. I sure did not idolize anyone. So I thought. I learned that even though I did not participate in these things I was guilty of them through my behavior(s).

When you give yourself to Jesus, I mean fully give God full authority over your spirit, soul, and flesh. These desires of the world go away. We were created for relationships. Genesis 2:18 tells us that God made a helper( Eve) for Adam. This verse shows that we are created with the intention of companionship. It wasn’t until I entered a full-time relationship with God did these things suddenly became clear. So very clear.

You see, God gives us the free will to enter a relationship with him. I know many of you are in relationships or have been in them. It is not a secret that all relationships require each party to give equal parts. If your husband, boyfriend, or friend is giving 25% and you are giving 75% ( all the time) you're going to wonder what is going on. That relationship will end and if it does not end the relationship won't be a firm one.  When I entered my relationship with God and gave Him all my time that is when I noticed my disrespectful, prideful, and rude ways became less and less.

 I was tired of feeling the way I did. It felt so gross! I knew my heart was hard. I could see it in my behaviors and honestly, it was taking a toll on my relationships and my body. I turned to God. I read scripture, downloaded the Bible app, and of course prayed. I listened to worship music or Christian music only! I made God number one in my life 24/7. Having a relationship with God is incredible! I want to shout from the rooftops about how awesome God is. All of us can have this! You seek God, create that relationship and you meet God halfway and watch the amazing things God does when you ask. ( Matthew 7:7-8) It is REALLY that easy! God is Good!

Offense

       Before we can discuss offense, we must first understand what it really is. Offense is the act of creating resentment and hurt feelings. And here's the hard truth: the closer someone is to you, the greater the impact of their actions when they hurt you. Obedience

  It’s been a while since I last posted a blog. To be honest, I don’t always want to write these. Sharing my thoughts here feels vulnerable, and I don’t like opening myself up to criticism or discomfort. But I’ve realized I can’t keep thinking that way. My fear of being uncomfortable has actually been standing in the way of my obedience to God. So, I’m going to do my best to stop dragging my feet and simply do as He asks.
