Who Do you Serve?
As you lay down each night, consider whose voice speaks to your spirit: Jesus or Satan? Through my journey of faith, Scripture has taught me a fundamental truth - we cannot simultaneously serve both God and worldly desires. The choice is binary: you're either walking with God or against Him.
Jesus exemplified a life of pure love and service. He spoke with everyone, regardless of their status or circumstances. The homeless, the sinners, the sick - He embraced them all without judgment, meeting their needs with compassion and grace. His heart overflowed with love for all humanity, setting a perfect example of how we should live.
How can we mirror Jesus's behavior in our daily lives? It starts with simple acts of kindness: providing food for the hungry, volunteering at church, supporting organizations that help children and the homeless, or offering prayers for those in need. Even small gestures, like helping a neighbor with their trash bins, reflect Christ's servant heart. When we prioritize others' needs before our own, we honor His teaching. At day's end, these acts of service earn His gentle praise: "Well done, good and faithful servant."
The world promotes a different message, one focused on self-interest. Those caught up in materialism, dishonesty, and self-centeredness become entangled in worldly pursuits. When we're consumed by our own lives, how can we notice others' needs? The world's mantras of "self-care" and "you do you" sound appealing, but they often lead us astray. When we prioritize worldly desires, we unknowingly align ourselves with Satan's influence.
We must choose our master wisely - we cannot serve both God and Satan. Each evening, one of them speaks to our conscience. After understanding this truth, I try to live in a way that would earn Christ's approval. Satan's deceptions may be tempting, but they lead us away from God's path. Before any action or decision, ask yourself: "Would Jesus do this? Does it align with Scripture?" The answer will reveal which master you're truly serving.
God Bless-
