Faith Testimony

What’s Faith Got to Do With It?
(Got to do with it, got to do with it... okay, I know—Tina Turner probably just rolled her eyes from heaven. But stick with me!)

The answer? Everything. Faith has everything to do with it. In fact, faith is the currency of heaven.

You might be wondering, “What in the world does that even mean?”
Well, faith is what gives us access to the blessings, provision, healing, and supernatural peace that only God can provide. It’s like a spiritual debit card—except there’s no overdraft, no fraud alerts, and no monthly fees. Just grace.

So, what is faith?
Faith is believing in God without needing physical proof. It’s knowing in your heart and soul that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life and was crucified for our sins.
Faith is trusting that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. You don’t need His birth certificate or a YouTube link to the Resurrection. You just know.

I’ve never really “struggled” with faith—especially not when I needed it the most.

I was 28 when my mom—my best friend, my rock, my world—was diagnosed with Streptococcus bacterial meningitis. Her prognosis? Grim. Like, capital-G Grim. She was unresponsive for 22 days.

Every single morning, the doctors would pull my brother and me aside with the same heavy update:
“Jane, Pat—your mother is not doing well. Her numbers are stable, and she’s breathing on her own, but if her oxygen drops, she’ll need to be intubated. Do you have any questions?”

The truth? My mom was hanging on by a thread. But I? I was holding on to faith. That’s all I had.

I wasn’t living like a saint—I had accepted Jesus as my Savior, but let’s just say I wasn’t out here quoting Scripture and walking the walk just yet. Still, I believed. With every fiber of my being, I believed God could—and would—heal her.

I prayed. Day and night. I think I even dreamed prayers. And though the doctors relied on science (which I’m grateful for), they didn’t know what I knew: My God doesn’t check lab results before He performs a miracle.

On Day 22, while I was at work, my phone rang.
“Your mom is awake. She’s alert. Every movement she’s making—she’s choosing to do.”

MOM. WAS. BACK.

Yes, she had a long road ahead. Yes, she lost her hearing and some balance. But this woman—this miraculous, unresponsive-for-22-days, less-than-3%-chance-of-survival woman—came back to us.
That’s not a coincidence. That’s God.

But it gets better.

About nine months later, Mom had a seizure after her doctors decided to take her off her anti-seizure meds. She was rushed to a hospital across town—not the one that had treated her originally. While I sat with her, the head doctor walked in and said,
“I had to come meet you. I read your chart, and what I saw... we don’t see that. Ever. You’re here because of God, not medicine.”

A doctor said that.
A woman of science.

You see, just because you can’t touch it, see it, or feel it doesn’t mean it isn’t real. Faith isn’t about what you can prove. It’s about what you know in your spirit.

Remember the woman in Matthew 9 who touched the hem of Jesus’s robe and was instantly healed? She didn’t grab His hand, or hug Him, or sit down for a consultation. She barely brushed His cloak—and her faith alone was enough to heal her.
(Also see Mark 5:25–34, Luke 8:43–48, and Matthew 17:20 if you like receipts.)

That kind of faith? That’s what healed my mom.

I don’t need validation. I know what happened. I lived it.
But it sure was sweet when science backed it up. Some that I speak with need the paper receipt. Faith is paperless!

This was God!!!!!

I know faith can be hard, but I’m telling you—faith is everything.

– God bless –
Jane
