Faith Over Freak-Outs

Hello friends, and happy Sunday!

As I was doing some wedding planning and figuring out details, it hit me—we are only 19 days away from our big day! Even though we were legally married this past February, I can’t help but feel the weight of stress, worry, and anxiety creeping in. Of course, I’m filled with excitement and joy as I look forward to the celebration, but if I’m being honest, I sometimes feel completely lost. It’s been hard to stand on solid ground and remain in faith.

But here’s the truth: this isn’t our wedding—it’s God’s.

I don’t know if the Holy Spirit nudged me to write this blog as a way to calm my own heart, or if someone else out there needs this reminder too. Stress and anxiety don’t come from the Father—they come from the enemy. In Galatians 5:22 we’re told: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness.” Notice stress and anxiety aren’t listed there. That’s because they’re not from God—they’re distractions from Satan, who is always trying to wedge doubt into our hearts.

Scripture reminds us clearly in 1 Peter 5:8: “Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.”

I want to enjoy this season of wedding planning, not be consumed by stress or anxiety. I don’t want to turn into a “bridezilla” who worries about every little detail. Instead, I want to release those worries to God and trust that He will make our wedding day perfect—no matter what does or doesn’t happen.

To anyone else carrying stress or feeling like the weight of the world is on your shoulders, hear this: our God is so good, and He will always provide. We simply need to keep our faith in Him. Don’t put God in a box—He will deliver in His way, in His timing.

1 Peter 5:7 (CSB) says: “Casting all your cares on him, because he cares about you.”

What a beautiful reminder of who He is! God loves us so deeply. Thank you, Father, for your never-ending love, your protection, and your constant provision. I cannot wait to see how You show up on our wedding day, just as You always have in this journey of planning.

And thank You, Lord, for holding each one of us—especially those who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or weary. You hear our prayers, you carry our burdens, and you love us through it all.
